LONDON: Mohamed Salah continues to prove that he is worth far more to Liverpool than even the £150m which Al-Ittihad have offered.
Liverpool instantly rejected the Saudi club’s offer last week and Salah demonstrated his loyalty to the Reds’ cause by scoring his 188th goal for Liverpool in an easy 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.
Salah loves playing against Villa. This was his seventh goal in seven starts against them and he is the club’s fifth all-time top scorer.
The 31-year-old has offered no hint that he is considering pressing for a transfer. He has two years to run on his contract. However the Saudi transfer window is open for another five days. Al-Ittihad are expected to test both Liverpool’s resolve and Salah’s loyalty with a higher bid.
Manager Jurgen Klopp will not want anything to upset his team’s momentum. Liverpool have taken 10 points out of a possible 12.
Klopp said: “I never had any doubt about Mo’s commitment to this club. You can’t imagine how much fuss the world has made but how calm we are with it. He is our player and wants to play here.”
