LONDON: Premier League spending in the January transfer window revived after a quiet 2024 with almost half the expenditure being delivered in by busy champions Manchester City.

Expenditure was £370m compared with £100m last year. Income totalled approximately £135m with half of that reaped by Aston Villa for the sale of Colombia striker Jhon Duran to Saudi Arabia.

The transfer window record remains the £815m splashed in January 2023.
