FRANKFURT: The German DFB has formally submitted its preliminary bid dossier to UEFA to host the UEFA Women’s EURO 2029.

The submission, a culmination of more than six months’ intensive work, was submitted virtually to UEFA by DFB president Bernd Neuendorf and the senior bid leadership team at the DFB Headquarters in Frankfurt.

The bid dossier outlines Germany’s ambitious vision for the tournament, built upon the slogan “Together WE Rise,” which highlights a commitment to fostering growth and unity across Europe to create a truly sustainable ecosystem for women’s football. The slogan resonated strongly during activations held across the weekend at Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga matches, engaging fans and showcasing the collective passion for the women’s game.

A key element of Germany’s bid is its commitment to selling more than one million tickets — an unprecedented milestone in the history of the UEFA Women’s EURO. This ambitious target reflects not only the surging popularity of women’s football in Germany but also the country’s accessibility, the enthusiasm of its fans, and the world-class stadiums and host cities ready to stage a record-breaking tournament. 

The proposed host cities and stadiums are as follows:

  • Berlin (Olympiastadion Berlin)
  • Cologne (RheinEnergieSTADION Köln)
  • Dortmund (SIGNAL IDUNA PARK)
  • Düsseldorf (MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA)
  • Frankfurt (Deutsche Bank Park)
  • Gelsenkirchen (VELTINS-Arena)
  • Hanover (Heinz von Heiden Arena)
  • Leipzig (Red Bull Arena)
  • Munich (Allianz Arena München)
  • Rostock (Ostseestadion)
  • Wolfsburg (Volkswagen Arena)

Neuendorf said: “This bid dossier underpins our ambition to use the tournament to sustainably strengthen women’s football in Europe in all areas. We want to welcome more than one million people to our stadiums and make the UEFA Women’s EURO an economic success.”

The next stage of the bidding process will involve a detailed evaluation of the bid dossier by UEFA. The final decision on the host of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2029 is expected to be made in December this year.
