LONDON; The Premier League recorded a record league-wide spending exceeding £1.5–2.6 billion, with around £1.4bn splashed on forwards.

Liverpool made the splash of the day by signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle for a British record £125m potentially rising to £130 million, after Newcastle reversed their initial refusal to sell.

They had already been active earlier in the window, bringing in Florian Wirtz (£116m), Hugo Ekitike (£69m), and Milos Kerkez (£40m) while offloading stars like Luis Díaz, Darwin Núñez, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

In other key moves Manchester City swapped Ederson (to Fenerbahçe) for Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG (€30m) and loaned Manuel Akanji to Inter Milan.

Manchester United signed goalkeeper Senne Lammens (£18–21m) and sent Antony to Real Betis (£21.7m), Rasmus Højlund to Napoli, and loaned Jadon Sancho to Aston Villa. Villa also secured Harvey Elliott on loan (with obligation to buy) and picked up Victor Lindelöf as free-transfer cover.

Tottenham signed Randal Kolo Muani on a season-long loan from PSG while Chelsea let Nicolas Jackson move to Bayern on loan and Ben Chilwell go to Strasbourg but Raheem Sterling remained. Aston Villa signed Harvey Elliott on loan from Liverpool and Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.
