NYON: UC3, the joint venture between UEFA and European Football Clubs – formerly ECA – which manages the marketing, sales and delivery of commercial rights for UEFA club competitions, has announced the selection of preferred bidders for media rights to UEFA men’s club competitions in the top five markets.
This milestone follows a tender process launched in early October by UC3 and its agency, Relevent Football Partners.
The process attracted widespread interest from a diverse range of media organisations and ultimately resulted in a mix of traditional broadcasters as well as local, pan-regional and global players.
This demand underscores the appeal and strength of UMCCs and the new league format.
A statement said:
At the heart of the strategy, which brings UEFA and the clubs closer together, is the recognition that media markets are evolving rapidly, driven by the rise of global, digital-first platforms delivering innovative fan experiences, alongside the enduring commitment of established broadcasters to provide broad visibility for the competitions worldwide. This balanced approach enables UC3 to harness the strengths of both emerging global players and trusted partners, while longer-term agreements provide greater consistency for rights holders and fans, ensuring stability and sustained visibility over time.
The following preferred bidders have been selected by UC3:
France
Germany
Italy
Spain
