NYON – Germany has been confirmed as host of the UEFA Women’s European Championship finals in 2029 by the governing body’s executive committee.

Only one round of voting was needed with 16 ballots for Germany, two for Denmark/Sweden and none for Poland. This means that the UEFA Women’s EURO will be held in Germany for the first time since 2001. The DFB had submitted a bid entitled ‘WE’29 – Together We Rise’.

The 16-team tournament will take place in eight venues (Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover, Leipzig, Munich and Wolfsburg).

UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin, said: “Each bid showcased vision and exceptional teamwork and I am sad that we had to choose only one. Congratulations to Germany! We look forward to an unforgettable tournament in the summer of 2029.”

German federation president Bernd Neuendorf said: “We are proud and delighted to be hosting UEFA Women’s EURO 2029. We would like to thank UEFA for the trust they have placed in us. Hosting such an important tournament is an honour but it also comes with a great deal of responsibility. Following the wonderful UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 in Switzerland, we want to set new standards.

“We are absolutely convinced that the tournament in Germany will attract more than a million fans and that UEFA will make a financial profit for the first time with a Women’s EURO. We are looking forward to celebrating a great festival of women’s football in the summer of 2029.”
