TIME-TRIAL TRIO TO REPRESENT GREAT BRITAIN AT 2025 UEC ROAD EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

— British Cycling can today announce the squad that will represent the Great Britain Cycling Team at the 2025 UEC Road European Championships in Drôme-Ardèche, France from Wednesday 1st-Sunday 5th October 2025.

The three-strong team will see Britain’s best time-triallists focus their efforts on the one event, contesting the European jerseys on 1st October.

Olympic silver medallist Anna Henderson will be contesting the elite women’s time-trial event, straight off the back of her top-10 finish at the road world championships earlier this week. Having picked up time-trial silver medals at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and at the 2023 European Championships, Henderson will be looking to grace the European podium once more.

Josh Tarling will be back representing Great Britain on the road for the first time since sustaining multiple injuries in a crash at this year’s Giro d’Italia, after picking up his first Grand Tour win in the stage two time-trial. The 2023 European time-trial champion will be targeting a successful return to the event with hopes of taking the starry jersey again.

Tarling will be joined by time-trial specialist Ethan Hayter, who has focused on racing the track for his home nation in the run up to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games where he picked up a silver medal as part of the team pursuit squad. This event will mark his first appearance for Great Britian on the road after coming fourth in the time-trial at the 2022 world championships.

Performance Director for the Great Britain Cycling Team, Stephen Park CBE said: “

“With the Euros falling so closely on from the world championships this year, we will be focusing our efforts on the time-trial events specifically and are pleased we’re able to field three strong contenders across the elite categories.

“All three have proven results in the discipline, with one Olympic, three world and two European medals between them and I look forward to seeing how they take on the course and the rest of the field at this event.”
