In the hunt for the women’s and men’s overall Swimming World Cup 2025 individual titles, Gretchen Walsh and Hungary’s Hubert Kos emerged as the overall leaders after three days of standout performances from the sport’s biggest stars.

CARMEL, INDIANA – The 2025 World Aquatics Swimming World Cup got off to a thrilling start in Carmel, Indiana, where world and Olympic champions put on a show for American fans. Australia’s Kaylee McKeown came within a fraction of the 200m backstroke world record (1:58.86) on the final night, rebounding from a loss to Regan Smith earlier in the meet.

Smith, Gretchen Walsh, and Kate Douglass led a dominant U.S. contingent, with Walsh breaking her own World Record in the 50m butterfly (23.72) and Douglass claiming wins in the 100m and 200m breaststroke and 100m freestyle.

On the men’s side, Hungary’s Hubert Kos swept the backstroke events to lead the overall standings ahead of Caspar Corbeau and Carson Foster. Other highlights included wins from Canada’s Ilya Kharun, Australia’s Lani Pallister, and the USA’s Luke Hobson. The World Cup continues next week in Westmont, Illinois, before concluding in Toronto.
