PARIS: New coach Carlo Ancelotti and his Paris Saint-Germain players had a flight fright on their return to the French capital after a training break week in Dubai.
PSG had lost a friendly 1-0 on Wednesday against one of Ancelotti’s old clubs, Italian champions Milan, before flying home. The goal was scored, after only four minutes, by Brazil forward Alexandre Pato who has been among star names linked with a transfer window bid by PSG’s new Qatari owners.
Heading back into Paris the captain was ordered by air traffic controllers to continue circling to use up fuel for safety reasons in the high winds. The plane had to circle for nearly an hour before being allowed to land.
