ROME: Milan conceded leadership of the Italian league after Fiorentina scored a surprise 2-1 win over the champions thanks to a last-minute goal from Amauri.

Coach Delio Rossi celebrated at the final whistle after seeing Amauri’s goal lift them five points clear of the relegation zone.

Milan had taken the lead through a Zlatan Ibrahimovic penalty only for the Viola to hit back through coveted Stefan Jovetic and then Amauri.

In Spain Barcelona trimmed the gap to leaders Real Madrid to three points when Lionel Messi struck twice in a 4-1 comeback win at relegation-threatened 10-man  Zaragoza. The  Argentinian thus became the first player to score 60 goals in a season in European top-flight soccer since  Bayern Munich’s Gerd Muller who netted 67 in 1972-73.
