LONDON: Stuart Pearce, for all the talk of Harry Redknapp or Roy Hodgson or Glenn Hoddle, has not wiped the possibility of managing England at Euro 2012 from his mind writes KEIR RADNEDGE.

Perhaps it was the Wembley setting but that came through loud and clear in his musings after the draw for the London 2012 Olympic Games football tournaments.

Pearce, the Team GB coach as well as current England senior caretaker following Fabio Capello’s expensive vanishing act, was confronted with the question of whether he was to taking the lead managerial role at both Euro 2012 and the Olympic Games.

His response was positive: “I don’t think it would be difficult to combine the two because the pre-planning is already done for the Euros. It’s up to the FA. If they appoint a new man for England then I think he will be pleased with the decisions taken by Fabio and myself.

“If it’s myself then I’m ready to do so. In fact, it would put me in tournament mode for the Olympics straight after so I would see it as a benefit, possibly, and not a hindrance.”
