ZURICH: All In One Rhythm – or, in Portuguese: Juntos num so ritmo – is likely to be confirmed next week as the slogan for the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

Reports from Rio de Janeiro claim that both versions have been registered with Swiss Intellectual Property Institute for use with more than 40 varieties of commercial and promotional products.

These include cosmetics, food products, musical instruments and alcoholic drinks. All FIFA’s World Cup sponsors would have rights to exclusive use of the slogan.

FIFA has said only that discussions have reached an advanced stage. A date for the formal announcement will be confirmed after meetings next week in Zurich between the world federation and Brazilian representatives including Sports Minister Aldo Rebelo and Jose Maria Marin, new president of both the Brazilian confederation and the Brazilian World Cup organising authority (COL).

The mascot for the World Cup will be unveiled later this year.

Inevitably FIFA president Sepp Blatter and secretary-general Jerome Valcke will raise concerns that the so-called ‘World Cup Law’ which underpins the legality of the tournament has yet to be approved by the Brazilian Senate.
