LONDON: Liverpool’s Wales forward Craig Bellamy has let it slip that he has been told he will be playing for Team GB in the London 2012 Olympic football tournament.

All the other players must be under 23.
Bellamy was reported in the media as saying: “I am in the Olympic squad but I was supposed to keep it quiet. It’s a different challenge. I had a difficult season with Liverpool but the Olympics is a one-off.”
** Brazil’s effective Olympic team lost 2-0 in a friendly against Mexico in Dallas. Tottenham’s Giovani dos Santos and Manchester United’s Javier Hernández scored the goals.
