ZURICH: FIFA president Sepp Blatter has repeated all his previous assertions that he is keeping out of corruption investigations into former FIFA presidential rival Mohamed Bin Hammam.

Blatter was asked about the saga centred on the Qatari former FIFA vice-president while attended a Zurich sports business conference.

He said: “This is now with this independent investigatory committee of the ethics committee and I am not any longer involved in that and I don’t want to be involved.”

Earlier this year Bin Hammam appealed successfully to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against a life ban imposed on him by the world football federation last year. This had followed allegations that he tried to bribe Caribbean officials to vote for him in the FIFA presidential election.

Bin Hammam is currently under a provisional suspension from FIFA while prosecutor Michael Garcia studies the ramifications of both the CAS verdict and also subsequent allegations alleging that Bin Hammam had misued Asian confederation funds.
