RIO DE JANEIRO: Four of the expected finalist players are among the six in contention to win the Adidas Golden Ball award for the best player at the Confederations Cup in Brazil.

The six are Andres Iniesta and Sergio Ramos (Spain), Neymar and Paulinho (Brazil) as well as Italy playmaker Andrea Pirlo and Uruguay striker Luis Suarez.

FIFA’s technical study group chose the shortlist and the accredited members of the have been entrusted with the task of choosing the winner.

Each journalist must select his top three players with points allocated per position (first – five points, second – three points, third – one point). The player with the most points will win the award.

The deadline for voting is the end of regulation or extra-time in Sunday’s final.
