KEIR RADNEDGE at WEMBLEY: Montenegro coach Branko Brnovic had no argument his team’s 4-1 defeat by England at Wembley.

Brnovic might have pointed to the injuries which weakened a team who have caused England so many problems in the recent past but he did not pretend they would have made a decisive difference.

“England were just faster, fitter and stronger,” said Brnovic.

“Yes we did miss important players and that which affected us but after the second goal we just lost the pace of the game. It was a huge experience for our young team and I’m sure England will win the group.

“Townsend is a high quality player and England’s wingers were hard to defend against. That’s why they won.”
