RIO DE JANEIROFIFA HAS announced the organisations which will receive financial support from its Football for Hope initiative in 2014. During a visit to one of the selected organisations, Bola pra Frente in Rio de Janeiro, FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke confirmed that a total of 108 football-related social development programmes across the world will benefit from FIFA’s financial support this year for a total amount of 3.1m USD.

In the year of the FIFA World Cup, the focus will be put on Brazil where support is expanding from five to a total of 25 organisations across the country with proven track record. All programmes went through a rigorous selection process in which applicants had to demonstrate the long-term sustainability of their projects.

The Bola pra Frente Institute was launched in 2000 by FIFA World Cup champion Jorginho with the aim of attending socially vulnerable kids. Today the former player had the opportunity to show the work of his organisation to a delegation composed of FIFA Secretary General as well as former seleção teammates Cafu and Bebeto.

Launched by FIFA in 2005, Football for Hope is an initiative contributing to social development across the globe by supporting organisations who harness the power of football to bring hope and opportunity to young people.FIFA supports these organisations by providing funding, equipment, training and by organising events where they can meet and exchange on best practice.

The next such event will happen during the final week of the World Cup. This July, FIFA will organise the Football for Hope Festival in Rio de Janeiro, an event which will bring together 32 teams of young leaders from community projects around the world.

FIFA amplia apoio a projetos sociais no Brasil

 

 

A FIFA anunciou hoje as instituições que receberão apoio financeiro da sua iniciativa Football for Hope em 2014. Durante uma visita a uma das entidades selecionadas, a Bola pra Frente, no Rio de Janeiro, o secretário-geral da FIFA, Jérôme Valcke, confirmou que um total de 108 programas de desenvolvimento social ligados ao futebol em todo o mundo receberão apoio financeiro da FIFA neste ano, em um montante total de US$ 3,1 milhões.

No ano da Copa do Mundo da FIFA, o foco estará sobre o Brasil, onde o apoio se expandirá de cinco para 25 entidades de diversas partes do país e com histórico comprovado de atuação. Todos os programas passaram por um rigoroso processo de seleção no qual tiveram de demonstrar sustentabilidade em longo prazo.

O Instituto Bola pra Frente foi inaugurado em 2000 pelo técnico Jorginho, campeão da Copa do Mundo da FIFA como jogador, com o objetivo de atender crianças em situação de vulnerabilidade social. Jorginho teve hoje a oportunidade de mostrar o trabalho da sua entidade para uma delegação composta pelo secretário-geral da FIFA e pelos ex-colegas de seleção Cafu e Bebeto.

Lançado pela FIFA em 2005, o Football for Hope é uma iniciativa que contribui para o desenvolvimento social em todo o mundo ao apoiar organizações que usam o poder do futebol para dar esperança e oportunidade a jovens. A FIFA apoia essas organizações por meio de financiamento, equipamentos, treinamento e organização de eventos nos quais possam se encontrar e trocar boas práticas.

O próximo evento do tipo vai acontecer na última semana da Copa do Mundo. Em julho deste ano, a FIFA vai organizar no Rio de Janeiro o Festival Football for Hope, um evento que reunirá 32 equipes de jovens líderes de projetos comunitários de todo o mundo.
