BARCELONA: Neymar, whatever the state of his financial arrangements with Barcelona, is continuing to harvest sponsors after becoming a ‘global ambassador’ for Castrol.

The partnership between the Brazilian – who faces Manchester City in the Champions League – and the lubricants brand will run for 12 months.

The deal will see Neymar become the face of Castrol’s World Cup promotions as well as a Castrol ‘activation’ to be launched in April. Castrol is an official sponsor of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

A S Ramchander, global marketing vice-president at Castrol, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Neymar . . . The World Cup™ is the perfect opportunity for us to combine our respective passions for superior performance, innovation and football.”

The partnership was signed in consultation with Rhodri Burgess of Wasserman Media Group, who has previously worked with Castrol to secure the services of Cristiano Ronaldo, Cafu and Marcel Desailly.
