LONDON: Real Madrid scraped into the Champions League semi-finals for the fourth season in a row and could now face their last manager as Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea joined them after Tuesday night’s quarter-finals second legs.

Madrid lost their return leg in Dortmund 2-0 but went through 3-2 on aggregate against last season’s runners-up having dominated the first clash last week.

They could have made the job much easier but, with injured Cristiano Ronaldo on the subs’ bench, Angel Di Maria missed a 17th-minute penalty.

Marco Reus punished a defensive mistake in the 24th minute and doubled Dortmund’s lead on the night in the 37th from close range after Robert Lewandowski hit the post.

Dortmund missed a great chance to level the tie in the second half but Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan only hit a post after rounding keeper Iker Casillas.

Chelsea reached the semi-finals with a late Demba Ba goal that secured a dramatic away-goals win over Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge.

Substitute Ba stabbed the ball home in the 87th minute to secure a 2-0 win which sent the Blues through after a 3-3 aggregate draw.

Earlier Chelsea had pulled one back from Andre Schurrle, on as substitute for injured Eden Hazard. Later Schurrle also hit the bar.
