LUSAKA: Investigations into allegations against Zamnbian FA president Kalusha Bwalya are almost complete.

The national anti-corruption department had followed up allegations in The Sunday Times that Bwalya had received $80,000 from former FIFA presidential candidate Mohammad bin Hammam.

Commission spokesman Timothy Moono said: “The investigations against Kalusha Bwalya are almost complete. We have had challenges because the case involved foreign jurisdiction but we are nearing completion.”

Bwalya has claimed that the money was entrusted to him to pass on a resolve debts owed by the FAZ. He has not clarified publicly how and when the sum was passed on.

Qatari Bin Hammam, 65 was banned for life by FIFA in December 2012 over allegations concerned Asian confederation funds.
