MADRID: The Spanish league has confirmed two new sponsorship deals on the eve of the new season which spans the one-year gap before the formal launch of centralised TV marketing.
Malaga v Sevilla is the opening fixture tonight ahead of a weekend schedule which sees champions Barcelona go to Bilbao – who beat them this week in the Spanish Supercup – on Sunday while world club champions Real Madrid open up at Gijon.
Mazda will become the official autmobile brand of the league in the 2015/16 season. The Japanese carmaker’s branding will be present in stadiums at all games in the Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante, while it will also appear on television broadcasts, social media and other online platforms.
Meanwhile, technology and household appliances distribution company Worten has become an official supplier of the league for the next year. Its branding will appear at grounds throughout the top two divisions.
No financial terms were released for either deal.
The Liga BBVA season begins on Friday with Uefa Europa League winners Sevilla’s trip to Málaga, before a full round of fixtures across the weekend.
