KEIR RADNEDGE in BRASILIA: Palmeiras forward Gabriel Jesus, hoping to line up here tomorrow as Brazil open their bid to win Olympic football gold for the first time, has agreed to join Manchester City.

The 19-year-old reportedly rejected offer to join rivals Manchester City and Barcelona because he wanted to work with City manager Pep Guardiola and considered he had a better chance of regular first-team football.

Reports in Brazil have claimed that the player owns a 25pc share in the consortium.

Jesus will become Guardiola’s fourth high-profile signing of the summer after the arrival of Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundogan and Nolito.
