Everton confirm Rooney’s Goodison return from United on a free transfer
LONDON: Wayne Rooney has rejoined Everton on a free transfer, 13 years after leaving the Merseyside club who have confirmed his return.
The 31-year-old played 559 times for the Red Devils, scoring a club record 253 goals. He is also England’s all-time leading marksman with 53 goals in 119 internationals.
He won five Premier League titles and each of the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup once after joining for £27m in 2004 from Everton with whom he had scored 17 goals in 77 games.
