MADRID: The arrest of Angel Villar has promoted a new outbreak of trouble between the Spanish football federation and the league writes KEIR RADNEDGE.

The draw for the fixtures schedule for the 2017-18 LaLiga had been scheduled for Thursday in La Ciudad del Fútbol at the federation headquarters on the outskirts of Madrid.

However, after the detention of Villar and nine other people over allegations of corruption the RFEF announced that the fixtures draw had been postponed.

This prompted an angry response from  LaLiga which indicated to local media that it still intended to go ahead with the draw.
