Galatasaray AŞ case referred back to CFCB Investigatory Chamber

— NYON: Following the decision of the Chief Investigator of the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) to conclude a settlement agreement with Galatasaray AŞ and the subsequent decision of the CFCB Chairman to send it for review by the CFCB Adjudicatory Chamber, the latter announced today its decision to refer the case back to the CFCB Investigatory Chamber for further investigation. Meanwhile, the settlement agreement concluded on 13 June 2018 remains in force, until further notice.

Also, ICYMI, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) announced the following decision earlier today:

 

Match: 2018/19 UEFA Europa League group stage match between FC Spartak Trnava and RSC Anderlecht, played on 20 September 2018 in Slovakia

 

Incidents/charges against FC Spartak Trnava:

 

Racist behaviour (chants) – Art. 14 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR)

Stairways blocked – Art. 38 of the UEFA Safety and Security Regulations

Improper conduct of the team (5 cards or more) – Art. 15 (4) DR

 

Decision

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has decided:

  • to order FC Spartak Trnava to play their next (1) UEFA competition match as host club behind closed doors and to fine FC Spartak Trnava €60,000 for the racist behaviour of its supporters.
  • to fine FC Spartak Trnava € 22,000.
