Former footballer and coach of Dynamo Kyiv Oleg Bazilevich died

He helped the team win the first championship in 1961

KIEV, October 16. / Tass /. Former Soviet and Ukrainian footballer and coach of the Kiev club Dynamo Oleg Bazilevich died at the age of 81. This was reported by the press service of the club.

“With boundless sorrow, the football world was greeted by the tragic news of the death of an outstanding Ukrainian footballer and coach Oleg Bazylevych,” the press service noted.

As a footballer, Bazilevich won the first gold medals for Dynamo Kyiv in the USSR Championships in 1961 and won the 1964 USSR Cup. Six times entered the list of 33 best football players of the country.

As a coach, he became a double champion of the USSR (1974, 1975), winner of the Cup Winners’ Cup (1975) and the European Super Cup (1975), with the USSR national team – a bronze medalist of the 1976 Olympic Games.

The club expressed condolences to the relatives and friends of Bazilevich.
