LONDON: Everton cannot yet mark the 10th anniversary of David Moyes’s managerial reign by heading for Wembley. They must replay their FA Cup quarter-final against Sunderland after being held 1-1 at Goodison Park.

Phil Bardsley fired the Black Cats into an early lead with a superb strike after Everton fell asleep at a free kick but the hosts replied with 24th-minute header from Tim Cahill.

Royston Drenthe, who had a penalty appeal turned down early on, hit the posts while Simon Mignolet made a fine double save from John Heitinga and Nikica Jelavic in the closing stages.

In thePremier League Gylfi Sigurdsson maintained his goalscoring form with two more goals (36 and 66 minutes) as Swansea took another big step towards survival with a 3-0 victory at Fulham. The on-loan midfielder has scored five goals in the last six games. Swansea secured their third successive league victory with a 77th-minute strike from Joe Allen. The Welsh club thus moved 17 points clear of the relegation zone.

Bottom side Wigan missed the chance to climb out of the relegation zone after they being held 1-1 at home by West Bromwich Albion.

Wigan have won only once at home this season – last August against Queens Park Rangers – came close to No2 after Emmerson Boyce and James McCarthy both hit the posts. They even took a 54th-minute lead through James McArthur but Wigan old boy Paul Scharner headed an eayualiser 11 minutes later from a Chris Brunt corner.
