LONDON: Tottenham my face themselves under medical care scrutiny over the decision to allow goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to play on after he had been knocked unconscious in the closing stages of the 0-0 draw with Everton; the France goalkeeper had been hurt in a late collision with Romelu Lukaku.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas said later: “Hugo doesn’t remember the incident with Lukaku but he seemed assertive and determined to continue and showed great character and personality. We decided to keep him on based on that.”

Lloris has kept 11 clean sheets in 14 matches for Tottenham this season.

Spus edged up to fourth with the point but would have gone second with a victory. Lewis Holtby, making his third league start of term, was unable to find the touch to disappoint his Everton-supporting father.

Caulker strike

Former Spurs defender Steve Caulker headed the goal with which promoted Cardiff won the first ever top division Welsh derby against Swansea.

Caulker, England under-21 centre-back, was sold to Cardiff in the summer. The previous sason he had played on loan for Swansea.

Swansea finished with 10 men after goalkeeper Michel Vorm was sent off for a late foul outside the penalty box.

That will mean Gerhard Tremmel making his first league appearance of the season next Sunday against Stoke. Tremmel was already expected to play against Kuban in the Europa League on Thursday.
