BARCELONA: Marketing outfit MCM Advertising has obtained court clearance to sue Spanish champions Barcelona for €100m in a row over sponsorship branding for the new La Masia sports centre.

The case could come to court early next year. MCM is claiming costs and loss of earnings from a deal which was agreed, originally, with Joan Laporta who was later replaced as president by Sandro Rosell.

Mario Conde, lawyer leading for MCM, has told local media that he did not understand why the club had not wanted to “make money” by exploiting thwe façade of La Masia.

The club has not commented on claims that it froze the agreement because, ultimately, the promotional façade should be taken over by the club’s main Qatari sponsor.

MCM specialises in promotional ‘skins’ for building and advertisings sites.
