ANDORRA: Ricardo Teixeira has abandoned his plan to set up an alternative home in the Pyrenees tax haven of Andorra.

The disgraced former supremo of Brazilian football and FIFA executive member had obtained a residency permit with the help of associates including the Barcelona president Sandro Rosell.

Some commissions to a marketing company for arranging Brazil’s friendly matches end up in an Andorran bank.

However authorities in the mountain mini-state had reportedly grown uncomfortable with the scandals surrounding Teixeira and which drove him, two years ago, to fly into exile in Miami.

In any case, according to the Diari d’Andorra, he has not apparently fulfilled the requisite minimum of 90 days residence in the past year.

One particular concern which remains unresolved concerns monies from a friendly between Brazil and Portugal in Brasilia in 2008. Subsequently Teixeira and father in law Joao Havelange were revealed to have accepted illicit payments running into millions of dllars from ISL Marketing, the now-bankrupt former marketing partner of the world football federation.
