LONDON: Liverpool have announced plans for a commemorative badge that will be displayed on the shirts for the final three home games of the season to mark the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.

The Football Association has already put plans into place to have every match taking place across next weekend to kick-off seven minutes late, marking the anniversary of the match that took place on April 15, 1989 that was called off after six minutes.

Liverpool will mark the tragedy with a special “patch for the 96” campaign, in order to raise funds for the families of the 96 that died at Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough stadium.

The iron-on patch will be available to buy from the official club store and Offical LFC Online Store for £2, which will be donated to the families currently recalling the victims at the ongoing new inquest.
