ZURICHAs preparations for the FIFA World Cup continue, FIFA secretary-general Jérôme Valcke returns to Brazil next week to visit four Host Cities – São Paulo, Curitiba, Cuiabá and Fortaleza – from April 22 to 24.

Alongside Brazil’s Minister of Sport, Aldo Rebelo, and members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Board of Administration, Ronaldo and Bebeto, he will meet representatives from the Host Cities and visit the Arena Corinthians, Arena da Baixada, Arena Pantanal and Aterro de Iracema, where the FIFA Fan Fest in Fortaleza will take place.

On Tuesday 22 April 2014, the delegation will meet São Paulo Deputy Mayor and Coordinator of the Municipal Secretariat for the FIFA World Cup Nádia Campeão, the Secretary of Planning and Development of the State of São Paulo Julio Semeghini as well as representatives from the club, in a visit to Arena Corinthians at around 10.30 (local time) followed by a media briefing.

After São Paulo, the delegation head to Curitiba, also on Tuesday, where it will be welcomed by club Atlético-PR, city and state representatives at Arena da Baixada. Once there, there will be a tour starting around 15.30, followed by a media briefing.

Next stop is Cuiabá, where on Wednesday 23 April 2014, the delegation will visit one of the Brazilian schools where the FIFA Football for Health project is being implemented. A demonstration of the course at Escola Municipal Maria Ambrósio (Jardim Imperial) is scheduled to begin at 9.00. Joined by the Governor of Mato Grosso, Silval Barbosa, and the Mayor of Cuiabá, Mauro Mendes Ferreira, the group will then head to Arena Pantanal. There, from around 11.00, journalists will be able to take photos and ask questions.

On the next day, 24 April 2014, the FIFA Secretary General will be in Fortaleza for a visit to Aterro de Iracema at 9.00, where the FIFA Fan Fest will take place. The State Secretary for the FIFA World Cup in Ceará Ferruccio Feitosa and the Municipal Secretary for the FIFA World Cup Patricia Macedo will join the group. There will be a photo opportunity on the beach. From there, the delegation head to the City Hall, where a media briefing will be held at around 10.00.

After the tour, the Secretary General will attend the LOC Board Meeting on 25 April 2014, in Rio de Janeiro. As usual, there will be a media briefing afterwards, scheduled for around 12.30 at the LOC headquarters in Riocentro.
