BARCELONA: Neymar is guaranteed minimum earnings of €45m over the length of his five-year contract with Barcelona, according to the latest release from the Football Leaks website writes KEIR RADNEDGE.

The Brazilian joined Barcelona from Santos in a transfer whose terms have become mired in controversy over third-party ownership rules breaches and contested revenue and tax implications.

According to the contract published on the website Neymar is guaranteed a minimum €45.9m over the length of his stay with the club including bonuses and extras.

These latter include the provision of a bonus of €450,000 if, during the term of the contract, Neymar is voted FIFA World Player of the Year.

A further extra payment is due if he plays 60pc of Barcelona’s games with further ‘rewards’ for qualification for the Champions League, for reaching the second round and winning various titles and trophies.

Any club which wishes to try to lure him away in the meantime would need to meet a €190m buy-out clause.
