LONDON: Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero risks missing the derby against United at the end of next week after being charged by the Football Association after appearing to elbow West Ham’s Winston Reid in Sinday’s Premier League game.

The Football Association has announced Aguero must answer a charge of alleged violent conduct following the incident during City’s 3-1 home victory on Sunday.

Aguero’s clash with New Zealander Reid was missed by the match officials.

The 28-year-old has until 6pm on Wednesday to respond and could face a three-match ban, which would rule him out of three matches including the top-of-the-table derby on September 10, if found guilty.
