—- FIFA’s Appeal Committee has decided to reject the appeal lodged by the Spanish club Sevilla FC and to confirm in its entirety the decision rendered by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee sanctioning the club for breaches of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (2012 edition) (the “Regulations”) relating to, inter alia, the prohibition of third-party influence on clubs.
As such, Sevilla FC is sanctioned with a fine of CHF 55,000 and a warning for breaching art. 18bis of the Regulations as well as art. 4 par. 2 of Annexe 3 of the Regulations. The club was found liable for entering into a contract that enabled a third party to influence the club’s independence in employment and transfer-related matters and for failing to enter mandatory information into ITMS.
The ban on third-party influence, which is set out in article 18bis of the Regulations, has been in place since 1 January 2008, and was amended on 1 May 2015.
The terms of the FIFA Appeal Committee’s decision were notified to Sevilla FC today.

La FIFA desestima el recurso del Sevilla FC contra la sanción por influencia de terceros
La Comisión de Apelación de la FIFA ha decidido desestimar el recurso presentado por el Sevilla FC y confirma así en su integridad la decisión de la Comisión Disciplinaria de la FIFA en la cual se sancionaba al club español por haber incumplido, entre otras estipulaciones, las relativas a la prohibición de la influencia de terceros en los clubes del Reglamento sobre el Estatuto y la Transferencia de Jugadores (edición de 2012).
El Sevilla FC fue sancionado con una multa de 55 000 CHF, una advertencia por violar el art. 18 bis y el apdo. 2 del art. 4 del anexo 3 del citado reglamento. Se considera al club responsable de haber firmado un contrato que permitía a terceros injerir en la independencia del club en cuestiones relacionadas con la contratación y los traspasos, así como de no declarar la información obligatoria en el ITMS.
La prohibición de la influencia de terceros, recogida en el art. 18 bis, entró en vigor el 1 de enero de 2008 y se modificó el 1 de mayo de 2015.
La Comisión Disciplinaria de la FIFA ha notificado hoy mismo al Sevilla FC los fundamentos la decisión.
