ROME: Italy secured qualification for the Euro 2020 finals with a 2-0 win over Greece in Group J. Rome was an appropriate venue since the Stadio Olimpico will host the Opening Match next June.

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho put Italy ahead with a penalty after Andreas Bouchalakis handled a shot from Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi made it 2-0 with 10 minutes left.

The battle for second place in Group J remains open. Finland, second, were thrashed 4-1 by fourth-placed Bosnia-Herzegovina, with Miralem Pjanic scoring twice, while eliminated Liechtenstein held third-placed Armenia to a 1-1 draw.

In Group F, Josh King scored a dramatic added-time penalty for Norway to delay Spain’s qualification in Oslo.

The 2008 and 2012 champions looked to have secured their place with a goal from Saúl Ñíguez but the referee Michael Oliver pointed to the spot with seconds to go after Spain’s goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga collided with Omar Elabdellaoui.

Spain are six points clear of third place with three games to play. Sweden in second romped to a 4-0 away victory against the already eliminated Malta, with Sebastian Larsson scoring twice. Romania put three past the Faroe Islands without reply and sit third in the group.

Belgium have already qualified for the finals.
