DUISBURG: Sevilla, five times winners of the UEFA Europa League, are within two matches of another triumph.

The Spanish club defeated England’s Wolves 1-0 in Duisburg with late goal from Argentinian Luis Ocampos to earn a semi-final against further Premier League opposition in Manchester United on Sunday.

In Monday’s semi-final Internazionale will take on Shakhtar Donetsk who swept away Switzerland’s Basel 4-1 in Gelsenkirchen.

Sevilla were caught on the back foot in the opening stages by Wolves. Adama Traore’s galloped out of his own half and was fouled for a 13th-minute penalty.

Unfortunately for Wolves Mexican centre-forward Raul Jimenez chose this occasion to miss his first penalty for the club, with goalkeeper Yassine Bounou blocking his soft effort before Joao Moutinho shot the rebound high over the bar.

EUROPA LEAGUE, quarter finals: Inter 2, Bayer Leverkusen 1; Man. Utd 1, KC Kobenhavn 0 (aet); Shakhtar 4, Basel 1; Wolves 0, Sevilla 1.

A relieved Sevilla dominated most of the remainder of the tie. It says everything about Wolves’ spirit in their 59th game of a 13-month season that it was not until the 88th minute Ocampos struck with a close-range glancing header from an Ever Benega cross.

The night’s other quarter-final saw Ukraine’s Shakhtar never troubled by Basel.

They took an early lead through Junior Moraes which was extended by before Taison who was then also fouled so Alan Patrick could score a third from a penalty. Dodo added a fourth before Ricky van Wolfswinkel hit a stoppage-time consolation.
