BRUSSELS: Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, who suffered a double facial fracture in the Champions League final, is likely to miss the first match of the Euro finals against Russia on June 12.

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez said: “Kevin may be available to play at the Euro, but we don’t know when.”

De Bruyne was hurt in a collision with Chelsea’s German defender Antonio Rüdiger and will not join his teammates until June 7 at the national center of Tubize. Before that, he will take tests to check that all is well with his eye and nose.

In addition to De Bruyne, Belgium will miss Eden Hazard from Thursday’s preparation match against Greece because of thigh strain and Axel Witsel, who is recovering from an Achilles tendon injury.
